HBR's 2009 REALTOR® of the Year

The The Honolulu Board of REALTORS® honored Berton Hamamoto as the 2009 REALTOR® of the Year, as well as the Aloha 'Aina REALTOR® Award recipients at the 2009 Holiday General Membership Meeting held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

The REALTOR® of the Year Award is presented each year to one exceptional REALTOR® who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the real estate profession, as well as to the community-at-large. The REALTOR® of the Year Committee selects the recipient of the coveted award on the basis of REALTOR® spirit, faithfulness to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, civic activity, business accomplishment, and local, state, and national REALTOR® participation.

Hamamoto, President and Principal Broker of Property Profiles, Inc., has been a member for over 25 years and held various positions for the Board, most recently as President in 2007. He has also served on numerous committees for the Hawaii Association of REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, and Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers. Hamamoto encourages his staff and colleagues to obtain professional designations and leads by example holding Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designations. His commitment and leadership in the real estate industry has also been with the Hawaii CRB Chapter's Pinnacle Award. Hamamoto also devotes his time and resources outside of the real estate industry by supporting a number of community organizations, including the Hawaii Children's Cancer Center, Shriner's Children's Hospital, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Hawaii Public Television, and the Pony All-Star League.
